Vector Surgical is an award-winning medical device company. Small yet dynamic, we are growing quickly and looking for an outstanding individual for our Controller role.
The Controller position involves working with the Vector Surgical team to ensure all financials are accurate and timely. Reporting directly to the CEO, this person is responsible for daily accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other administrative duties. This person is a key leader within the firm, who drives the optimization of business processes and technology. The position requires interacting with our bankers and external accountants. Discretion and professionalism are of utmost importance. We are looking for a high energy, smart, innovative, entrepreneurial professional to join our growing team.
Core Responsibilities
Accounting Management
· Accounts Receivable: enter and deposit checks, ACH payments and credit card payments
· Accounts Payable: enter bills and issue checks, file payments
· Payroll: enter monthly payroll, distribute checks, process reimbursements, track vacations
· Accounting: prepare monthly financials for external accountants, balance checking account
· Credit Cards: verify and categorize charges, manage cards for employees
· File Taxes: track expenses for tax reporting (e.g., Research and Development, charitable donations) prepare information for tax payments, pay quarterly estimates and annual payments
Process Streamlining and Technology Optimization
· Streamline: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of internal processes related to sales, order processing, and other applications
· Implement Improvements: Implement new technology to improve general administrative processes
Business Reporting
· Monthly Sales Report: track and report new accounts in Excel, review order processing to ensure accuracy
· Business Reports: assemble financial information for a variety of other business scenarios using Excel
Enterprise Support
· Manage Insurance: serve as liaison with corporate and employee benefit insurance providers, evaluate options for renewal and recommend choice of carrier and coverage
· Employee Support: Assist with employee onboarding and departure
· Support Vector Surgical Culture: Interaction with Teammates, handle sensitive information with utmost professionalism, adapt to the needs of teammates with flexibility and respect, exude a “service orientation” in all endeavors
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field, fundamental knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· CPA preferred but not required
· 5+ years of professional accounting experience, fluency in basic accounting principles and standards

Technology
· Outstanding command of technology, strong expertise in QuickBooks and Excel required, mastery of Microsoft Outlook and Word

· Experience in medical device or small business entities is helpful but not required
Onsite Location: Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin office. Relocation is not provided.
Job Types: Both Part Time and Full Time considered (30-40 hours). Work hours occur Monday – Friday. No travel.
