Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays
- Maintain patient records and update necessary information in the system
- Assist with billing and coding processes
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Handle patient inquiries and provide accurate information about services and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of office systems and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with dental terminology (for dental office receptionists) or medical terminology (for medical receptionists)
- High school diploma or equivalent
