Job Description:
The Counselor plays a vital role in our multidimensional approach to delivering high-quality continuum of care. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating recovery groups, educating on relapse prevention skills, and participating in discharge planning within a supportive therapeutic environment. The Counselor will collaborate with clinical, medical, and residential staff to ensure the best possible care for our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments and refer patients to ancillary therapies as needed.
- Facilitate educational caseload groups.
- Liaise with approved family members to strengthen a healthy support system.
- Demonstrate effective communication and healthy coping skills for clients.
- Maintain up-to-date and high-quality clinical records.
- Collaborate effectively with all clinical, medical, and residential staff.
- Ensure compliance with continuing education requirements.
- Participate in clinical staff meetings, staff development, and required training.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a substance abuse or mental health setting.
- LCDC, LDAC, LADAC License.
- Strong interpersonal and engagement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed, flexible, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
