Work you’ll do
Our client is building a team of designers, researchers, and writers to support their mission. The User Experience Researcher will be expected to work closely with asset managers and engineering teams, utilizing strong communication skills and passion for communicating the user’s voice and incorporating it throughout the design process. You will be working onsite alongside the client to complete the following:

Apply user experience research by leveraging extensive knowledge of various sciences (e.g., Human Factors, Marketing, or Psychology)

Apply web usability testing methods of web user research studies (e.g., usability studies, creation of user profiles or personas, participatory design, surveys, heuristic evaluations, and cognitive walkthroughs)

Conduct user-experience (UX) research (to conduct heuristic evaluations) on websites, software applications, and mobile apps for the client’s web enterprises to enhance the user’s experience

Design user-centered test plans across the design cycle from concept phase to post-release evaluations
-
Conduct web research studies (e.g., usability studies, creation of personas, and cognitive walkthroughs) to design user-centered test plans across the design cycle from concept phase to post-release evaluations

Incorporate quantitative and qualitative UX research methodologies to convey complex technical and business requirements

Conduct UX research through usability testing, interviews, card sorting, and other industry methodologies. Based on that research, provide data-driven reports, in a variety of formats, to diverse audiences

Conduct and incorporate UX research techniques such as: observations, understandings, analysis, interviews, surveys, questionnaires, card sorts, usability tests, tree tests, and A/B testing to prove or disprove assumptions, find commonalities across our target audience members, and recognize their needs, goals, and mental models in the client’s digital space either live or remote

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience applying user research methods (e.g. usability testing, user interviews, surveys, card sorting, tree testing, field studies)

Demonstrated experience integrating consumer research into a business’s product design practice

Strong knowledge of User Research methods such as Usability Testing, Concept Testing, User Interviews, Unmoderated Remote Studies, User Surveys, Prototype Testing, Contextual Inquiry, Heuristic analysis, Competitive Analysis & Benchmarking, etc.

Demonstrated experience with product usability testing tools in the product development process to help research, create, and test digital representations of work by leveraging specialized UX tools (i., Balsamiq, UX PIN, FIGMA)

Demonstrated experience utilizing methodology concepts for analysis and brief findings to organizations as necessary

Ability to travel 20 - 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Ability to receive/maintain required security clearance (Public Trust)
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, User Experience Design, or other related fields

Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, or quantitative analysis

Demonstrated experience with analytics tools (i.e., Google analytics, Matomo Analytics, Tableau)
-
2+ years of end-to-end design experience in the digital product space

Ability to execute the various methods for user research and design strategy artifacts

Can conduct design workshops and requirements gathering with stakeholders
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $109,000.00 to $181,000.00.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
