Position: Assistant Manager, Accounting -Japanese Bilingual-
Salary : $80K-90K (DOE)
Location: 95%Remote, 5%Lemont, IL
Work Style: Mainly WFH (3 times at the office/week for the first 1-2 months during training, 5-10 times/year at the office for meeting and etc.)
Work hour : 8:00-4:30
General Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Company’s accounting function including management of subordinate employees, accuracy of general ledgers, development of
financial reports, accounts payables and receivables activities, sales and use taxes, and coordination of income taxes and audit activities.
Essential Job Functions
Accounting Operation Management
- Processes and maintains general ledger and all related accounts with proper documentation and records of all company transactions. Activities include reviewing subordinates entries and posting general journal entries.
- Assists with preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Directs accounts payable activities.
- Supports subordinate’s accounts receivable activities.
- Oversees fixed subordinate’s asset control activities.
- Oversees other managerial accounting reports such as sales reports and car production report.
- Coordinates with accounting firm for financial audit and state and federal tax return preparation.
- Oversees state franchise and sales and use tax return preparation.
- Calculates royalties and commissions.
- Prepares annual consolidation reports for parent company.
- Communicates with parent and sister companies.
- Identifies and implements processes/improvements.
- Oversees key performance indicator report preparation and identifies corrective actions needed.
- Attends weekly managers’ meeting.
- Oversees quarterly netting process with related parties.
- Monitors sister company bank transactions.
- Prepares monthly financial reporting package including financial statements, variance analysis, KPI, turnover ratios, and sales volume report by product to parent company.
- Review sister companies’ monthly financial reporting package including financial statements, variance analysis, KPI, turnover ratios.
- Prepares annual oversea activity survey to parent company.
- Assists with preparation of quarterly global meeting presentation.
- Assists with forecasting.
Supervision
- Supervises work and responsibilities of subordinate employees assuring that quality work is completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.
- Identifies solutions to departmental and interdepartmental problems.
- Conducts ongoing training of subordinate employees.
- Contributes to the evaluation of subordinates.
- Identifies personal objectives of subordinates.
Other & Miscellaneous
- Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
- Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager and other senior management.
- Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
- Reports all irregular issues and problems to manager for solution.
- Maintains good communication with other managers, staff & outside contacts.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
- Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
- Reviews and files annual reports to renew domestic and foreign incorporations.
- Communicates with attorneys to prepare board meeting minutes, resolutions, etc..
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college/university.
Work Experience Requirements
- Over 5 years of related experience of experience in accounting job function.
