About The Role
We're on the lookout for vibrant individuals with a genuine passion for creativity and a desire to help create non traditional fun experiences through candle making. As a crucial member of our team, you won't just be standing in a store; you'll be curating fun and memorable social experiences for our guests. Your responsibilities encompass warmly welcoming guests, guiding them through scent exploration, assisting in various stages of the candle-making process and hosting a pre-set list of social activities while guests wait for their candles to set. From pouring wax and blending fragrances to creating an inviting and joyful atmosphere, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring each visit is a delightful, immersive, and unforgettable experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Extend a warm welcome and provide assistance to guests upon their arrival
- Infuse energy and enthusiasm into the scent exploration process, helping guests choose from our library of 50+ single-note scents
- Assist guests in selecting vessels for their candles, providing options and upgrades as needed
- Lead guests through the fragrance blending process, encouraging creativity and unique combinations
- Oversee the candle-pouring station, ensuring the enchanting process of turning fragrance blends into beautifully crafted candles
- Host guests participating in fun social activities like trivia, karaoke and games competitions.
- Contribute to maintaining a vibrant and inviting studio space that enhances the overall social experience
- Engage guests in delightful activities during the candle-setting period, fostering connections and creating memorable moments
- Participate in training sessions covering various aspects of the candle-making experience and the importance of creating a fun vibe
Qualifications
- Genuine passion for fragrance and creative expression
- Comfortable engaging with groups in public settings
- Excellent task prioritization skills, focusing on optimizing the guest experience throughout the candle-making process
- Familiarity with the operational flow of a retail space is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle items moderately heavy items
- Previous experience in customer service or retail is a plus
- 21+ years old
Important Details
- Hiring for part-time roles, up to 20 hours per week
- Pay starting at $16/hr pay with the potential to earn more through tips
- Training provided for custom fragrance blending, candle making and creating a fun, memorable social experience
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required
Timing
As a new business officially opening in mid-April, we will progressively build our staff roster through our soft opening into May. Please use the following timing as a loose guide.
- Early March: Application open to apply
- Mid March: Rolling interviews as people apply
- Early to mid April: Offers extended
- Mid April: Initial hires start training & working
- May: Increase in shifts and staff
