Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. This includes conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating visual impairments and diseases, prescribing corrective lenses, and providing personalized recommendations for eye health.
Duties:
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision.
- Diagnose and treat visual impairments, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
- Detect and manage eye diseases and conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye syndrome.
- Prescribe and fit contact lenses based on individual patient needs.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient visits.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
- Valid state license to practice optometry.
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with senior care practices and the unique eye health needs of older adults.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry.
- Ability to perform basic optical tasks such as frame selection and lens fitting.
- Understanding of vital signs measurement techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of ocular anatomy and physiology.
