Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries
- Optimizes patient satisfaction, provider time, and room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
- Comforts Patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and financial information, and collecting patient charges
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality or medical, personal, and financial information
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes
- Maintains business office inventory by checking stock levels and reorders when applicable
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office-Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly and effectively on the telephone and in person
- Must have a willingness to be flexible in hours of attendance and job duties
