Store & Sales Manager Job Description
Sugar Bliss is a retail bakery in Downtown Chicago Loop. As the Store & Sales Manager, you are responsible for the daily operations of the store, ensuring quality and consistency of all products, providing excellent customer service, leading by example by hiring and developing employees, focusing your team on maximizing sales and productivity, and responsible for planning, developing and growing catering sales.
Responsibilities
Leadership:
· Promotes company's mission and values and acts as positive role model and leader for the company
· Manage and direct daily store operations
· Ensure that product quality and consistency and company policies, standards, and procedures are executed and maintained
· Monitor product and packaging inventory and ensure inventory is stocked and consistently replenished and also when to re-order supplies or go to storage
· Resolve conflicts and make hard and fast decisions
· Communicate clearly and establish focused direction to execute the workload and is proactive on all tasks including special projects to finish on time
· Drive sales growth, control cost management, and maintain profit growth
· Organize and manage your time efficiently, which results in consistent productivity and customer focus
· Multitask and delegate to make sure assigned tasks are completed by the end of the shift or by the deadline given
· Manages employees to promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork
· Direct and coach all staff by providing feedback regularly and train if necessary
Sales/Marketing Skills:
· Brand ambassador and positively represents the Sugar Bliss brand to employees and customers
· Build relationships with customers and act as key sales liaison with them and also follow-up with customers to ensure Sugar Bliss is meeting and exceeding their expectations.
· Display/coach sales driving focused behaviors to achieve daily and monthly sales goals are met
· Identify opportunities to drive sales and attracts customers by implementing marketing, advertising, public, and community relations programs
· Identify new sales opportunities by cold calling and utilizing business lists and to build a sales pipeline for new and existing customers
· Tracks all prospecting efforts, client interactions, meetings, calls, quotes, & orders in our CRM-Hubspot
· Take weekly photos and videos and upload for social media
Hiring
· In charge of hiring and training employees and select the right people, by training them and accurately assessing their skills
· Be able to handle employee relations
· Create time schedules and substitutions and cover all shifts even when they are last minute
Written, Communication, Analytical and Decision-Making Skills:
· Ensure high customer and client satisfaction
· Works together and communicates with the Pastry Chef to make sure all products and orders that the customer receives has a positive experience
· Resolves customers issues
· Reviews work procedures and operational concerns to determine methods to improve customer service, production, performance and safety and sanitation
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deal with issues that may come up during the typical workday
· Able to think quickly and make decisions
Required Skills
· 2-4 years of retail management experience preferably in food
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) and math skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
· Knowledge of Canva, Mailchimp, and Hubspot
· Attention to detail
· Ability to problem solve
· Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
· Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, with flexibility to move between projects in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to step into any position in any store.
· People Oriented - enjoys working with our guests and employees, possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent follow up skills
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, rapidly growing environment.
· Must be organized; proactive; and possess strong sense of urgency and professional demeanor
· Analytical ability to assess impact of sales and initiative
· Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays and cover shifts
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Position requires bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, repetitive motions, cognitive skills, standing and moving about the unit the entire workday.
· Serve-Safe certification required
