Objective:
Provides class instruction teaching with and emphasize on musical theater. Follows the lesson plan provided to you. Creates a supportive and encouraging learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation. Communicates with on-site coordinator as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements music theater lesson plans for students in a classroom setting.
- Provides instructions in various musical concepts, including music theory, rhythm, melody, and harmony.
- Teaches students fundamentals in musical theater, how to play musical instruments and develop their vocal skills.
- Plans and organizes performances and recitals for students to showcase their musical abilities.
- Collaborates with other teachers and staff to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects.
- Creates a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and a love for music.
- Assesses student progress and provides feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Skills Needed to Succeed:
- You possess a strong passion for education and a desire to help students succeed.
- You have experience working with children: Experience working with children in a tutoring, teaching, or mentoring capacity.
- You have familiarity with childcare practices and the ability to create a nurturing and safe environment for young learners.
- You have experience or knowledge in theater arts, which can be incorporated into creative lessons or drama-based activities.
- You have an understanding of child development principles and the ability to provide age-appropriate guidance and support.
- You have familiarity with special education techniques and strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
- You have an understanding of early childhood development stages and the ability to implement appropriate teaching methods for young learners.
- You have previous experience working directly with students, such as tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or coaching.
