Tow Truck Fleet Mechanic

We are a leading provider of junk car removal and recycling services, operating a fleet of 16 tow trucks dedicated to efficient vehicle retrieval and transportation.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tow Truck Fleet Mechanic to ensure the optimal functioning and maintenance of our fleet of tow trucks. The primary responsibility of this role is to keep our vehicles in perfect working condition to support our daily operations.
This position reports to the Fleet Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a fleet of 16 tow trucks to ensure they are safe, reliable, and operational at all times.
- Conduct thorough inspections, diagnose mechanical issues, and implement appropriate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and vehicle service history.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to vehicle maintenance and operation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve emergent mechanical issues promptly to keep our fleet operational and responsive to customer needs.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and communication for seamless operations.
- Be available outside of scheduled hours to respond to emergency situations and provide immediate assistance to ensure fleet readiness.
- Execute preventative maintenance & repair plan provided by Fleet Manager.
- Provide recommendations to Fleet Manager based on fleet inspections & PM completed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3 years of proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with expertise in heavy-duty vehicles (Ford F550 to F650).
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Knowledge of automotive systems, including hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and other departments.
- Flexibility to work variable schedules, including occasional weekends or overtime as needed for emergencies.
- Responsible work ethic with a commitment to vehicle safety and operational efficiency.
Work Schedule:
- Work schedule varies depending on Fleet requirements
- 5 days a week to be assigned by Fleet Manager (7a.m. to 4p.m.)
- Fleet mechanic must come on Sundays for routinary check.
- This position works every other Saturday, starting at 7a.m for Fleet Inspection.
- The mechanic should be available on-call given an emergency.
Pay:
· $1000.00/week
