The Warehouse Worker plays a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient handling of products from receipt to shipment. This position involves a mix of physical tasks and inventory management to support smooth warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
Accept and unload deliveries from suppliers.
Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments by cross-referencing packing lists and purchase orders.
Report any discrepancies or damage to the appropriate parties.
Organize and store items in their designated locations within the warehouse.
Ensure that storage areas are tidy, accessible, and comply with safety regulations.
Use warehouse management systems to log inventory.
Conduct regular stock checks and update inventory records.
Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
Identify and report low stock levels or inventory discrepancies.
Accurately pick products according to order specifications.
Pack products securely and label them for shipping.
Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring timely dispatch.
Load outbound shipments onto trucks or other transportation.
Generate and attach necessary shipping documentation and labels.
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
Perform routine checks and maintenance on warehouse equipment.
Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Work cooperatively with team members and other departments.
Assist in training new warehouse staff when needed.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Prior experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience with warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) is beneficial.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
Capacity to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
