We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant HR/Payroll Manager to join our team. You will be be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources and payroll management within our restaurant, including payroll processing, recruitment, employee relations, training and development, performance management, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. You will play a key role in creating and maintaining a positive and productive work environment for our employees.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee payroll administration and ensure accurate and timely processing of full-cycle payroll functions.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
- Manage full-cycle recruitment and selection process, including job postings, resume screening, and interviewing
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations
- Coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off
- Conduct training sessions on HR policies, procedures, and best practices for managers and employees
- Support the development and implementation of performance management systems
- Handle employee relations matters such as disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement of HR policies and practices within the restaurant.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts related to HR functions such as payroll management and budgeting
- Familiarity with accounting software for tracking HR-related expenses and managing budgets
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex HR issues effectively
- Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all HR activities
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management and record keeping
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting or related field or equivalent training and experience in same/similar position
- Required: Minimum 5 years of HR/Payroll Management experience, preferably in the Restaurant or Hospitality Industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (Bi-lingual in English and another secondary language is an asset in this position).
- Required: Current California Driver License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record
