Position Description
Overview:
FHG, Inc. is looking for a Project Accountant to join our team. This individual will have responsibility for project cost and contract accounting. The ideal candidate has experience in accounting for a mid-size construction company and working with an ERP system. This individual will assist the team with advancing our core values of integrity and excellence. The position will be based in our Charlotte, NC headquarters.
The following description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential responsibilities of work performed in this position. It is not a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Project setup, maintenance, and closing reconciliations in our ERP system
- Process and reconcile change orders, subcontracts, purchase orders, and billings as needed
- Accounts payable review and coding, entry as needed for project costs
- Support the development, communication, and implementation of accounting business process as it relates to project accounting
- Work directly with project managers to ensure that projects meet accounting standards and monthly deadlines
Required Experience:
- Experience with ERP project-based accounting systems
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
- Experience in the construction industry preferred
Required Skills:
- Understanding of organizational accounting concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with ability to meet deadlines
- Driven to learn and understand the accounting modules of our ERP system
- Strong internal customer service/relationship approach
- Demonstrated problem solving capability
