OWAY USA - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The result of a journey that began in Bologna in 1948, OWAY is now present in professional salons and spas in over 70 countries around the world, online, in single-brand boutiques, and select concept stores.
We are searching for a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to launch OWAY philosophy, products, and services into the U.S. professional salon and spa industry. This role will share our unique and authentic circularity story and support our manifesto to create the first community of plastic-free salons and spas through executing our expansion strategy in the US Market.

Key Roles and Accountabilities:
New business:
- Research and identify new business opportunities, including target markets, ideal customers, growth areas, and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with leadership to plan, develop, and execute a targeted customer acquisition strategy aligned with company goals.
- Open New Business quickly and facilitate all aspects of the opening process from prospecting to on-boarding to animation.
- Conduct customer acquisition events and business seminars through a variety of delivery methods including in-person, digital and virtual.
- Prepare prospecting reporting regularly, identifying salons per market and assessing the potential in each given area.
- Consistently operate within and assist in building out the knowledge base in company CRM software.
Sales/Development of existing salons:
- Manage the growth of new and existing partners, develop a sales plan using a customized consultative approach that builds trust and long-lasting business relationships.
- Create new strategies and procedures where needed to support growth and continuously increase revenues in order to achieve goals.
- Assist in developing and executing on-boarding programs for new salon and spa partners, including account set-up, merchandising, support towards a plastic free path, education and training plan, direct client launch strategy and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Expand all domains within 6-12 months: Hair Care-Treatment-Colour-Beauty (The Place salons)
- Achieve 75% launch penetration within 6 months of release
- Create a path for the customer to become an exclusive Oway salon
Events:
- Participate in the planning and execution of company meetings, business forums, and customer acquisition events.
- Organise events in the salon every 4-6 months. Holiday, Scalp Treatment Day, Beauty Day, Colour Day, and more. The focus is on helping the salon achieve a sell-out
- Involve at least 60% of the salons in Oway USA events
Education:
- Plan and execute new and existing customer education with Oway courses
- Organise education plan for all accounts and dedicated monthly support
- Discuss the salon’s economic sustainability: Cost Benchmarks and Revenue Benchmarks
- Team building or one-to-one activities with the owner where the numbers are analysed together with all the salon’s Benchmarks. Motivate staff and use coaching techniques.
- Offer training advice, highlight training gaps and promote education. Present feedback on the courses provided.
- Participate in assisting the Education manager to recruit a national team of educators, coaches, and brand ambassadors to support the Sales, Business Development and Marketing team in technical instruction, direct client events, activations, industry fashion shows, and future events.
Visual Merchandising:
- Promote the restyling of the salon through modulo, promote design restyling through various merchandising items (vases, plants, dedicated signs, restyling of the salon logo upon approval)
- Reorganize and educate to ensure premium representation
- Ensure that all retail prices are correct
- Make sure that all visuals, glorifiers, leaflets, services menus, green tester towers, posters and window lettering are displayed correctly
- Set up inventory systems in each salon, discuss with the customer, ensure all the products are displayed at the back bar and that the best sellers have a predominant position on the display.
Additional Accountabilities:
- Assume additional relevant assignments as the needs of the company evolve and grow.
Qualifications required:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Compelled to live and work with sustainability and wellness as core values
- Preferred: 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- OR - License in Cosmetology/Esthiology
- Motivated and driven mindset – enjoys ‘hunting’ and developing new markets
- Superior written, verbal, presentation, and organization skills.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Suite, and familiar in HubSpot CRM functionality and analytics.
- Skilled in social media channels and familiar with leveraging video technology to further educational reach.
- Ability to work remotely and travel, when necessary (up to 70% during peak business seasons), including national and/or international travel.
