Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Optometric/Ophthalmic Technicians to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists/ophthalmologists in providing quality eye care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include performing various diagnostic tests, documenting patient information, and providing support during eye exams and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmology and possess excellent communication and organization.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye testing, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, visual field testing, OCT, Topography, Fundus Photography.
- Administer eye drops as directed by the ophthalmologist.
- Obtain patient medical history and document relevant information in electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Assist with patient education on eye care procedures, medications, and post-operative care.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures.
- Provide support to the front desk staff as needed.
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Optometric or Ophthalmic Technician or similar role is a must.
- Proficient in medical terminology related to ophthalmology.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of equipment used in ophthalmology.
- Strong understanding of ophthalmic procedures and diagnostic tests.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
