At the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), we believe our employees are our greatest asset. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace. We are looking for an Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our strategic Talent Acquisition initiatives.
In this role, the HRBP will be tasked with building relationships with employees at all levels of the agency. The HRBP will develop and drive improvements to the HR practices, focused on the hiring process and its efficiency. This position will work as a consultant and guide for managers through the talent acquisition process and consult on a variety of topic ranging from partnering with cross functional teams, sourcing, outreach, and classification/compensation to build and deliver solutions ensuring a fair, equitable and efficient selection process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated progressive experience as a HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition Specialist, HR Generalist/Consultant or Senior Level Recruiter.
- In-dept knowledge and experience of COV Talent Acquisition, recruitment/selection, including onboarding new employees.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience using PageUp and Cardinal.
- Strong understanding of DHRM Policy 2.10 and application of federal/state laws.
- Prior experience with classification and compensation.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to foster relationships and collaborate with key internal and external partners.
- Significant experience communicating with hiring managers and candidates, consulting and guiding managers on hiring practices.
- Experience designing or redesigning HR processes and procedures to improve outcomes.
- Experience conducting interviews, vetting screening matrix, and follow-up/reporting on recruitment outcomes.
- Experience facilitating outreach programs, recruitment programs, or related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency extracting, combining, and manipulating data delivering reporting metrics and conducting HR data reviews.
- Flexibility and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Experience working with highly confidential and sensitive information.
Proactive customer service skills including the ability to manage and respond to different situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude

- Professional Human Resources certification(s)..
Experience working in Human Resources within the public sector.
