Elgin Separation Solutions is currently looking to hire an Operational Controller.
The Operational Controller will be responsible for directing and overseeing the operational finance activities for Elgin Separation Solutions including financial plans and policies, accounting practices and reporting, cost accounting, financial forecasting and analysis, and due diligence activities.
The ideal candidate will be leading the tactical business, but also demonstrate the desire and ability to drive change, identifying business needs, areas of improvement, and objectives through research and data-backed decision-making that will empower them to make recommendations on appropriate business initiatives.
Reports to: Director of Accounting
Location: Stafford, TX
Salary Range: $140,000 to $160,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly financial close process from pre-close activities to financial statement issuance ensuring compliance with prescribed closing and reporting schedules while maintaining compliance with US GAAP.
- Performance of reconciliations and analytical reviews
- Prepare the annual financial budget and monthly and quarterly forecasts.
- Provide in-depth analysis on variances to plan, forecast, and prior year.
- Drive Net Working Capital initiatives to optimize inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable positions.
- Participates in product costing functions to include operational routings, efficiencies, and overhead allocations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise employees,
- Includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
Skill/Experience:
- 10 + years of Accounting or Finance experience, with 2 + years of experience in manufacturing
- Experience using an ERP system (JDE experience strongly preferred)
- Expert Excel user (use of databases, queries, and reports)
- Strong project management skills
- Practical knowledge of Lean business practices
- Knowledge of Percentage of Completion Accounting (POC) is desirable.

- Occasional travel (20% of the time) (domestic and international)
