Housing and Employment Case Manager (Re-entry)
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager and in conjunction with the therapist and case managers, the Housing and Employment Case Manager will work to provide client-specific services that will support inmates in gaining housing and employment or income. All staff will be responsive to the primary purpose of improve life skills and family functioning, help clients develop job skills and find jobs, and increase stability in the community. This job with be partially jail-based, and require travel to/from jail and/or probation department meetings.
SUPERVISION:
Supervised by the Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Help clients achieve goals and objectives within their Individual/Family Success Plans that address all relevant issues: income, employment, and housing
2. Utilize knowledge of Denver metro housing resources to assist inmates and probationers in achieving transitional or permanent housing post release, including advocacy with housing authorities.
3. Assist clients with job readiness training, interview procedures, resume writing and other skills necessary to obtain stable employment.
4. Coordinate with all collaborating agencies’ staff and external service providers as needed to help clients meet their goals.
5. Engage with other community agencies
6. Provide services and manage time in order to meet goals within established timeframes.
7. Participate in program, agency, and external meetings and trainings.
8. Respond to crisis and emergency calls.
9. Act with utmost professionalism, responding promptly and respectfully to all inquiries, suggestions, requests, and complaints in accordance with agency policy.
10. Maintain appropriate boundaries with participants, observing all confidentiality and HIPAA protocols.
11. Maintain excellent written records and required statistical forms, including timeliness with entering data, notes, and submitting required paperwork.
12. Complete Administrative paperwork such as time sheets, mileage sheets, expense reports, and disbursement requests.
13. Report to The Project manager as needed
14. Will work with participants in pre- and post-release settings
QUALIFICATIONS:
Desired Knowledge:
· Understanding of the reentry continuum and barriers that clients face when reentering from incarceration
· Knowledge of local agencies’ housing and employment support programs and services, local units of government and grassroots organizations.
· Motivational Interviewing experience

- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work effectively with agency staff and service providers and with individuals in the justice system
- Ability to work a flexible, non-traditional schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas in both written and verbal form.
- Ability to understand and relate to the needs of project participants of diverse ethnic, cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to operate a computer to enter data, maintain records, and generate reports.
- Ability to network effectively with various types of organizations, including government agencies, law enforcement agencies, employers, landlords, courts/probation/corrections, and grassroots organizations.
- Ability to exercise judgment regarding appropriate information sharing, confidentiality requirements, and human relations while setting clear boundaries.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors with experience or Master’s Level education in the field of social work, criminal justice, or counseling.
- Experience Preferred: Minimum of two years’ experience in justice-systems related work.
- Experience working with the mental health and substance use participants and/or individuals involved with the judicial system. Experience with navigating the Denver housing and employment resources and funding options preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver’s License and car insurance by date of hire
- Ability to pass background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
