The Georgia Department of Community Health Board of Pharmacy is seeking a Customer Service Representative (GST120) who will work and communicate with the public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and services targeted to meet customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, works and communicates with the general public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and services targeted to meet customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Answer inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Receive and review inquiries and customer service issues.
- Answer questions and distributes appropriate Board literature.
- Provide recommendations for features or information services.
- Perform data entry for incoming applications and license requests.
- Review application data, applicant profiles, call center data, or other program function areas.
- Receive and respond to telephone calls, emails, and/or faxes.
- Assist customers, applicants, visitors, personnel and/or officials regarding regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as phone backup to front desk staff.
- Generate written responses to customer inquiries.
- Retrieve computer records and enter or update databases.
- Record application fees collected for services.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail for processing.
- Scan and index incoming documents.
- Maintain departmental filing system.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and six (6) months of experience handling customer's questions, complaints and/or providing information.
- One year of experience at an equivalent position; or
- One year of experience in customer service communicating information
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years of customer service in communicating information; or
- Two years of college education

- Ability to maintain logs/records of unit activities.
- Ability to interpret, display and maintain information.
- Skilled in developing tracking files and production logs in the proper report format.
- Knowledge of the use and access of databases; skilled in generating reports using designated software programs.
- Ability to research information in computer databases.
- Knowledge of the record keeping process.
- Ability to operate a telephone console to handle high volume calls.
- Skill in identifying problems and resolutions.
