Summary:
Perform a variety of paying and receiving functions for deposit and loan customers. Strive to retain present customers and develop new business by extending high quality and efficient service. Be alert to the needs of the customers to suggest additional services and products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represents the Bank personably, efficiently, and tactfully while in contact with the public either face-to-face or by telephone. Always smiling, warmly welcoming customers, genuinely caring for customer concerns and always thanking customers for their business.
- Consistently provides quality customer service in a professional manner.
- Continually safeguards Bank’s cash/monetary instruments and the security of working environment while processing deposits and withdrawals for checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, loan payments and other transactions in accordance with Bank risk, security and compliance policies.
- Balances individual teller drawer daily and within Bank guidelines, following Bank policies, procedures, and standards of performance.
- Assists in the development of new business for the Bank. Makes unsolicited suggestions to customers for new or existing services. Directs customers to appropriate person to open any new accounts. May provide appropriate literature for services, follow up on referrals if appropriate, and document referrals.
- Complete required training including regulatory, systems, and other as required by the supervisors based on job duties within the requested time periods.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies as stated in Bank’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least six months previous experience of cash handling in a retail/banking environment or customer service experience.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills; have the ability to work as a team; be flexible, both geographically and scheduling.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse customer base.
- Proficiency in math. Utilization of good judgment skills and basic computer skills.
- Ability to interact within all levels of the Bank.
- Must possess a good work ethic and attention to detail.
