Summary
The Museum Assistant Educator supports the mission of The Museum of Flight by implementing educational presentations and activities to onsite groups and individuals, in line with the initiatives of the Boeing Academy for STEM Learning. This position assists the public and visitors in the educational program deliverable areas of the Museum to enhance guest’s visitor experience and support learning. As time allows, this position may provide assistance for other education staff for various programming and educational needs.

- Interact with visitors and guests providing strong customer service and knowledge about our educational programs.
- Responsible for presenting and enhancing creative museum-based activities.
- Adhere to oral and written instructions for individual presentations and activities as assigned.
- Works independently and within a team environment in delivering education-based activities.
- On a daily basis this position will provide presentations and present activities to audiences of all sizes and ages.
- Participate in Museum-wide and department-wide events, training, and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in education, museum, camp environment, daycare, organized youth groups or theater activities.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of STEM or history preferred.
Skills
- Displays courteous and friendly demeanor; able to direct and assist guests.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal/communication skills.
Abilities
- Ability to work with a variety of people, including visitors, program participants, and volunteers.
- Good organization, attention to detail, and problem solving.
- Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.

- This position work hours are set by the supervisors and are flexible in nature ranging from 0-26 hours per week.
- No travel is expected for this position.

- Onsite attendance is essential to perform the duties of this position.

- The ability to focus, bend, carry, reach to the side, front and overhead, push, pull, walk, stand, twist, and squat are occasional requirements in a normal work setting.
- Ability to move through physical Museum campus spaces is required including occasionally outdoors in variable weather.
- Must be able to be physically active throughout the shift.

Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
