Summary:
We are seeking an Interventional Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. As an Interventional Gastroenterologist, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialized care to patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions, offering advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology and possess excellent clinical skills, communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:

Perform a wide range of advanced endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), luminal stenting, and mucosal resection.

Utilize advanced imaging modalities and navigational tools to guide interventions and ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.

Evaluate and manage patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions, including pancreaticobiliary diseases, gastrointestinal malignancies, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and other disorders.

Collaborate closely with referring physicians, gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists to develop integrated treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards to discuss complex cases, coordinate care, and optimize treatment strategies.

Provide patient education and counseling on procedural risks, benefits, and post-procedure care instructions, ensuring informed decision-making and optimal outcomes.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects, and educational activities within the gastroenterology department.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system.
Education Requirements:

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology

Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Advanced/Interventional Gastroenterology

Proven expertise in performing advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP and EUS, with a focus on technical proficiency, patient safety, and quality outcomes

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and promoting patient safety

Willingness to participate in on-call duties and weekend coverage as needed
Licensure Requirement: Candidates must hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Hawaii, DEA, and Hawaii Controlled Substance
