You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) for the Small Business Administration (SBA), People Operations Disaster Division (PODD). The employee serves as a Senior Human Resources (HR) Specialist providing HR advisory and program services to a Center or equivalent Center level office or to subdivisions of a Center.

Selectees residing within the local community areas (within 50 miles) of an SBA office in the following cities Atlanta, GA, Buffalo, NY, Citrus Heights, CA, Fort Worth, TX Herndon, VA may be required to report to an office based on the work demands determined by the level of disaster activity.
Duties
As a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) at the GS-0201-12, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Serves as a technical subject matter expert, performing extensive troubleshooting of existing databases and other HRIS systems. Applies high-level data systems skills and practical HR management expertise.
- Provides authoritative policy and technical advice or consultation and assistance on all Payroll and Personnel Systems to organizations at all levels of the organization on the full range of products and services for both internal systems and shared service systems hosted by other SBA offices.
- Troubleshoots system problems, including operation failures, provides emergency assistance, and administer system interpretation and guidance.
- Advises and provides information to management, supervisors, employees, and applicants related to one or more HR functional area.
- Works with department and across the HR organization to interpret, collaborate, and/or resolve issues.
Requirements/Conditions of Employment
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government travel credit card.
- Favorable background investigation and credit check are required.
- You may be required to complete a one-year trial period.
- This is not a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Experience:
To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level.
GS-12: You must have 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. Specialized experience is described as meeting all the below:
- Researching, interpreting, and applying appropriate laws, regulations, policies and/or guidelines and providing a broad range of advisory services in the areas of information systems (human resources); and,
- Responding to a variety of human resources inquiries from internal and external customers; and,
- Using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to gather, maintain, and report data; and,
- Providing supervisors/managers with advice and guidance on various Human Resources processes and/or strategies.
