Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory procedures and techniques to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This position is based in a hospital setting and requires proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of senior laboratory staff
- Collect, process, and analyze specimens such as blood samples, tissue samples, and body fluids
- Prepare samples for testing by following established laboratory procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results by adhering to quality control protocols
- Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents needed for laboratory tests
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Document test results accurately and report any abnormalities or deviations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent is preferred
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment operation
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of laboratory test principles
- Experience with RNA extraction, aseptic technique, CT scanning, or other specialized laboratory procedures is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
