Full Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager for our Floorcovering division. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the division, including sales, customer service, and staff management. This is a key leadership role that requires strong organizational skills and the ability to drive results.

Responsibilities:
Managing a large commercial Floorcovering Division. Responsible for overall project planning, bidding and scheduling, resource recruiting and allocation, project budgeting and control, and department revenue and margin goals while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Major Duties

Develop and manage Commercial Floorcovering Division.
Mentor others in the division and company.
Oversee sales revenue and margin goals and initiatives for division, while working with project management and sales staff to achieve positive margin and sales goals on all projects.
Work with Leadership to create budgets for staff and equipment.
Oversee and drive business development while increasing market penetration in Minnesota and some out of state work in select markets.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with carpet, vinyl, wood, etc. mills, manufacturers and suppliers that are beneficial to Corporate Success.
Develop, manage and maintain labor resources and strategies to execute work in the field.
Serve as a key link with the clients.
Other duties as assigned.

Senior Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee Floorcovering construction projects from start to finish including planning, directing and coordinating all or part of the project.
Performs a key role in bidding, procuring contracts, project planning, engaging subcontractor labor, scheduling, material procurement, budgeting and identification of resources needed for Floorcovering division installation and closeouts.
Project accounting functions including managing the budget, completing quantity check take-offs, tracking of team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project, quantity and cost estimating along with bidding.
Ensure the construction activities move according to predetermined schedules.
Devise project work plans and make revisions when need arises.
Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
Overseeing the procurement and delivery of materials, tools and equipment.
Coordinate the efforts of all Grazzini Brothers & Company parties involved in the project which could include estimators, drafts people, and field personnel.
Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis including periodic inspection of the construction sites and completion of Labor Reports on a regular basis.
Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, timeliness, and quality and safety standards.
Assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results impacting staff, costs, and/or quality of service.
Ensure project documents are complete and final payment is received.
Quantity and cost estimating along with bidding through the use of on-screen takeoffs while developing an intimate knowledge of the estimating software (WinEst).
Review and process contracts and closeout documents.
Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.

Sales Manager Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Increase Market penetration in the 10 county Metro area with some outstate and out of state work in select markets.
Market and promote the Floorcovering division to the industry.
Create sales forecast and goals for division and individuals.
Select work to bid based on product mix and availability of resources.
Develop and implement end user approach that best fits the company’s goals.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

4-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the field of commercial construction, degree in construction management is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of experience in soft flooring construction projects, including project management.
Excellent oral/written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans and project specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities within established deadlines.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Business development skills.
Good client management and goodwill building ability.
Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
Strong focus on quality.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Sage 300 accounting and WinEst estimating software is preferred, but not required.
