We are Anatomy Warehouse; a small, quickly growing company, based in Skokie, IL. We supply students, schools, hospitals, training clinics, biomedical and pharmaceutical companies, and even the film industry, with anatomical models and healthcare simulation products. We are a leading global distributor of the world's most advanced anatomy models, healthcare simulators, dissection specimens, and medical training products. Our small team is made of a diverse group of enthusiastic, joke-cracking, hard-working, and dedicated people who care deeply about what we do every day. We and our products are on a mission to help train and educate the next generation of healthcare professionals and, as a company, we are experiencing tremendous growth, which brings us to why you’re reading this!
We are seeking a full-time Inside Sales Specialist to join our Client Relations Team. This isn’t like many of the other Sales Rep jobs you’ve looked at already. This role focuses on inbound sales from leads generated through our ecommerce website, public bidding and solicitation opportunities, and management of current accounts. It’s about understanding every customer’s unique needs, providing consultative services, building a genuine connection, and promoting our company and products as the best fit for the needs of every customer. It's NOT about "smiling and dialing" or putting on a hard sell because you have a quota to meet (we do have goals the team needs to achieve, but it's not a do-or-die proposition). We have over 7,000 products in our current lineup and are constantly adding more based on what our customers are asking for. Sometimes customers give us a very clear list of what they want, other times customers only have a budget and a vague idea of what might help their classroom, and it’s in those vague inquiries that we really shine by going above and beyond to match the right product to the right customer the first time. In the world of ecommerce, good ol’ fashioned things like picking up the phone to ask a customer about their needs is just one of many ways that we stand in a class of our own within our niche.
At a minimum, the ideal candidate possesses experience and skills such as:
- Experience with inbound sales for both B2B and B2C segments.
- Experience with CRMs and customer opportunity management software. Experience with HubSpot is a huge plus.
- Strategic understanding of customer lifecycles, buying patterns, and opportunity management.
- Extremely keen attention to detail. We cannot stress this enough!
- Prior experience in the educational sales market is a plus but not strictly required.
- Ability to learn quickly, whether it is our systems, customers, products, or strategies, there is a lot to learn!
- Natural ability to connect with our customers to understand their needs, pain points, and how we can win them from competitors + keep them for life.
- An interest in our products and what we do. It’s not just selling a product or closing an opportunity; it’s about taking pride in the impact our products make in the lives of our customers.
- A hunger to achieve big results. It’s not enough to send a customer a quote, it’s about closing the deal and fostering a lasting relationship with each and every customer.
- Resourcefulness is an underrated trait we value highly. If a customer needs something we don’t immediately have, figuring out how we can meet their requirement is critical for success.
Our Core Values define what is important to us and it’s important that all employees align with them. They are:
- Curiosity (contrary to popular opinion, curiosity doesn’t kill cats, we love cats)
- Caring (we care about ourselves, each other, this company, and our customers)
- Judgment (not the mean kind, the kind that aligns with things like common sense)
- Results (putting in hours to get through the day isn’t enough; we want to see the fruit of our labor be sweet!)
- Adaptability (like Darwin’s theory of Natural Selection, we adapt to environmental conditions to become our best selves)
More than your background, we look for the right attitude and aptitude in all our hires. As a small, expanding company, mutual, long-term fit is of paramount importance in all our hiring decisions. We invest heavily in all new employee training – everything from our systems, processes, products, strategies, tools, and more. For this and many reasons, it’s critical that we hire the right person the first time; please take the time to genuinely ask yourself if a demanding, high-paced environment where no two days are the same is right for you. Are you willing to go above and beyond to meet every customer need? Are you ready to find out what pricing a customer wants so we win the deal from a competitor? If a customer sends you a list of random product names, are you going to dig in to present them with options or will you simply reply back and ask for part numbers and leave them to figure it out on their own? These may seem like odd scenarios, but that’s because we’re an unusual company, and we’re not looking for average; we’ve got aggressive growth plans and finding “forever employees” who want to share in and fuel our growth is critically important to us. We know this place isn't for everyone, and we're okay with that.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. In addition to base salary, we have an annual discretionary bonus based on company and personal performance. We aren’t big fans of quotas and prefer to pay our employees a stable wage instead of commissions, which we believe fosters a more genuine connection to our company and to our customers. Full-time employee benefits also include paid Holidays, discretionary paid time off, medical + dental + vision + life insurance, and a 401(k) program.
This is a full-time position; hours are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. While we know many candidates are seeking a hybrid or remote position - which we totally get! - we invest a lot into our culture and your development, and therefore require all employees to be onsite.
Other benefits include occasional afternoon frisbee games (or whatever game we are feeling that day, maybe it's just going for a casual walk?), company-sponsored outings, a pantry with more snacks than is reasonable for a team this size, and a fridge full of sparkling water, top-notch beer/seltzers and mediocre wine to be enjoyed responsibly. We’re not unbiased, but we think we have an awesome team of people who work hard, get sh*t done, and care. Simply put, this is a great place to work if you're the kind of person who wants to achieve big things with a group of like-minded people!
