POSITION SUMMARY
The Graphic Designer / Photographer is a member of the company's Media Services Department responsible for creating visual concepts, by hand or with computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate our clients. He/she will develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, websites, event signage, videos, social media graphics and other creative projects by assignment. In addition to the graphic design portion, the candidate will also act as an event photographer and green screen/photo op operator. Successful candidates will be prepared to handle multiple projects simultaneously with varying levels of complexity inside an extremely busy, high-output department, to ensure that creative output is developed and delivered on schedule and under budget, not only meeting our clients’ expectations, but exceeding them.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs high-quality artwork in a fast-paced environment for both internal and external clients.
- Prepares artwork for print production, ensuring formatting, color, bleed and trim lines are all correct.
- Photographs events as assigned with an ultimate goal of capturing the essence and feeling of each occasion in a single set of exceptional photos, including awards ceremonies, corporate meetings, outdoor events, galas, concert productions, and more.
- Communicates thoroughly and productively with internal colleagues to inform his/her design recommended design solutions.
- Provides hands-on assistance to the in-house print production team.
- Continuously demonstrates solid understanding of the components of his/her recommended design solutions and how each will be applied, mounted, or displayed on job sites.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS * Portfolio required
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience in the industry
- An excellent eye for capturing compelling designs and photography, substantiated by a photography and design portfolio
- Superb visual design skills with technical proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Must be able to work 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday, and nights and weekends as required for projects and event photography
- Salary depends on experience ($14-$18 per hour).
