Job Summary:
Join the pioneering team at Westwin Elements and be at the forefront of establishing the first domestic Ni Refinery in the U.S. This groundbreaking role offers a unique chance to work with Ni Carbonyl technology, a century-old innovation from Canada and the U.K. You'll gain hands-on experience in the operational aspects of Ni Carbonyl refining, from pilot plant operations to commercial scale-up, guided by our seasoned carbonyl experts.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Roles:
- Lead and manage a team of plant operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Schedule and coordinate shifts, ensuring adequate staffing for 24/7 operations, including 12-hour day and night shifts.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and process safety protocols to ensure the wellbeing of all team members and the local community.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss operational updates, safety procedures, and performance goals.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Ni Carbonyl refining process, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
- Monitor and manage process control systems, including PLC and DCS platforms, to maintain optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with operational control procedures and protocols in high-risk environments.
- Assist field operators in troubleshooting and resolving process control issues using SOPs and troubleshooting trees.
- Identify, escalate, and address complex process issues, applying Occupational Risk Assessments as needed.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including industrial mechanics, electricians, and instrumentation experts.
Technical Expertise:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of industrial refining process equipment and control fundamentals (e.g., compressors, blowers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves).
- Document and relay process adjustments and modifications effectively across shifts and to supervisory personnel.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and processes to enhance plant performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma from an accredited institution; College certification in Chemical Technology or related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of operational experience in petrochemical or similar industrial settings, including field and control room environments.
- Familiarity with PLC and DCS process control platforms.
- Strong leadership qualities with supervisory experience.
- Competence in collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Prerequisites:
- Strict adherence to operational control procedures and protocols.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and rectify process control issues.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting and relaying process adjustments.
