Position Description:
The Manager, Web Development in the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning provides continual design and maintenance improvements to the Delphi Center's website, directly influencing its effectiveness in attracting and motivating internal and external visitors. This position interacts with all Delphi Center units and is involved with all aspects of developing and maintaining Delphi Center's websites. The Manager, Web Development works as a critical member of the Delphi Center's marketing unit to ensure the successful promotion of both internal education programs and external revenue-generating programs through strategic use of the websites.
This position is key in developing and maintaining the university's online learning website. Given the growth and prioritization of online learning within the university, the Manager, Web Development will spend a large percentage of time supporting the online learning unit of the Delphi Center. This position is expected to proactively offer solutions, recommendations and innovative components to marketing projects. This position also ensures compliance with accessibility, university branding, copyright guidelines, and alignment/compliance with industry standards and best practices. �This position requires front and back-end development experience, with demonstrable experience creating and maintaining multiple web pages and sites, combining a graphics perspective with navigation and programming skills.
The Manager, Web Development supervises and coordinates staff and directs web development team operations, inclusive of team and project management and leading and organizing backup procedures to ensure seamless operations and service to the Delphi Center. Additionally, this position establishes norms and expectations for web development team accountability, customer service, timely processing and reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Linux system administrator experience is a requirement for this position.� There is one server this position will assist to administer. �Experience working in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment, CSS, HTML, Javascript, JQuery, SEO, API integration and supplemental multimedia software is required.� A working knowledge of open-source CMS software such as Plone and/or Drupal as well as comfortability assessing and understanding custom developed web applications is highly desirable.� Experience building and customizing in WordPress is also a plus.� A desired candidate must have a working knowledge of online marketing tactics and applications including search engines, Google Analytics, blogs, and creating landing pages as well as a working knowledge of SEO best practices and tactics to attract more visitors, support marketing campaigns, and convert visitors into customers/students.
This is a part-time position with a 20hr workweek, structured within the Delphi Center Business Office unit.� This is a fully remote position, but the selected candidate, if residing within a 2-hour distance from the university, will be requested to attend intermittent departmental meetings on-campus and occasionally meet in person to collaborate.
