POSITION SUMMARY:
A Warehouse Logistics Coordinator, prepares, routes and manages a company’s purchase orders. Their main duties include reviewing shipment materials before distributions, collaborating with transportation systems to ensure prompt shipment pick-ups and monitoring shipment costs and productivity processes.
Logistics Coordinator duties and responsibilities
A Logistics Coordinator facilitates communication between operations, commercial department and accounting to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain. Your responsibilities often include:

Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels

Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy

Making special shipping arrangements as necessary

Tracking and fixing shipping errors

Preparing bills and invoices
-
Managing distribution and shipment budgets
-
Ensuring that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards

Developing processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized

Coordinate, set and confirm every inbound appointment delivery, including over the road (OTR), live unloads, and rail and port containers.

Responsible for the application of accurate judgement for time allowance and unloading procedures of delivery loads.

Responsible for sending US Customs documentation to validate and harmonize them with loads appropriately. Serve as coordinator to the Customer Service Supervisors, Warehouse Receiving Supervisor and Clerk.

Responsible for advance delivery of the “Out of Stock List”.

Must have a sense of urgency in prioritizing purchase orders and loads.

Must be able to work simultaneously with the Warehouse Receiving Supervisor and Clerk at all instances.

Responsible to ensure that all imports and receiving packages are verified and correct.

Responsible to oversee that all empty containers are reported in a timely manner

Responsible to oversee and ensure all loads are received as schedule to avoid any demurrage and per diem charges.

Responsible to assist in any container discrepancies or claims with other Departments, the police and surveyors.

Responsible to set up and verify delivery date appointments for specific cruise lines and storage accounts as directed.

Must be able to fully participate during inventory as a primary team member.

Provide statistical reports as scheduled and other miscellaneous responsibilities as instructed by the Logistics Manager.

Other clerical administrative duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma/GED required.
-
Degree in business administration, logistics or related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in logistics management required.

Working knowledge of legal regulations and ISO requirements.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.

Good management and organizational skills.

Strong problem-solving skills.
