Job Summary:
Responsible for providing a personalized shopping experience to customers around selling beauty products by leveraging the Connect, Inspire, Engage service model and product knowledge. The Beauty Consultant is also responsible for carrying out operational tasks that help drive sales and profit within the Beauty business.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales
- Proactively approaches customers in a friendly manner to engage, determine needs and help them make buying decisions about desired product.
- Shares product knowledge and application techniques with customers to generate interest and close the sale
- Suggests additional products to customers to increase the basket size - Introduce customers to Beauty Virtual tools.
- Meets or exceeds prescribed sales goals and productivity standards
- Promotes Find More with customers to drive sales and enhance customer experience
- Actively engages customers to support the company’s Instant Credit Application Process - Actively engages customers with JCP Rewards and gift card programs
- Listens to customer issues in a calm and agreeable manner to resolve problems
- Understands the local beauty industry competitive landscape and what products / services they offer
- Proactively supports diverse and inclusive brands in stores that enable us to deliver an exceptional customer experience
Checkout Standards
- Completes Point of Sale checkout processes including returns and re-ticketing merchandise
- Assists with signing and merchandising standards at department checkout counter
- Utilizes Mobile Warrior when necessary to support line management
- Proactively calls for assistance when additional help is needed at checkout
- Notifies leadership when checkout supplies are running low; assists with replenishment of supplies
General Operations
- Takes personal action to replenish products from shipments, stockrooms, and understock including not-for-resale items such as tester strips, applicators, tissue, etc., while ensuring core standards are maintained
- Participates in product tester creation and management including cleaning process
- Conducts sales floor recovery processes to ensure an organized, clean, and hygienic store environment is maintained and set to core standards
- Participates in Merchandise Transfer Out (MTO), Return to Vendor (RTV), Mark Out of Stock & Destroy (MOSD) and Expired Product processes
- Participates in inventory processes such as cycle counts, stock ledger updates, radio frequency identification scans, and annual inventory, etc
- Completes pricing and signing processes within Beauty department; stays abreast of company beauty marketing efforts
Performance Standards
- Supports company shrink and safety initiatives
- Consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including (but not limited to) product sales, customer service, and productivity
- Meets or exceeds company attendance and on-time standards
- Participates in ongoing skills development through company and/or vendor provided training and skill practice

Pay: From $13.50 per hour
