The Role
Explore a fulfilling opportunity at Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest as a Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) Instructor! Provide instruction in multiple areas of apartment/multi-dwelling maintenance and repair in electrical, HVAC/EPA, plumbing, appliance maintenance and repair, and interior and exterior repair for JVS of MetroWest’s CAMT program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Good working knowledge of Computers, Microsoft Office, and various Search Engines.
- 5 years of experience in building and/or apartment maintenance skills, including electrical, HVAC/EPA, plumbing, appliance maintenance and repair, and interior and exterior repair.
- Excellent time management, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Candidates must have a valid state driver’s license, active vehicle insurance, reliable transportation and be able to travel to various job shadowing sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- 5 years or more demonstrated experience in the apartment/maintenance industry.
- College/Vocational teaching experience a plus.
- Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach courses as scheduled.
- Strong verbal and written communication, listening and presentation skills
- Prepares course syllabi for each course.
- Current knowledge on developments regarding instructional methodology.
- Excellent organizational skills to ensure that multiple tasks receive adequate and timely attention.
- Develop, grade, administer, and facilitate quizzes, exams and other methods used to evaluate student progress.
- Provide progress reports and evaluations on each student's performance.
- Manage classroom activities by enforcing standards, rules and regulations.
- Makes recommendations and provides feedback to the Program Manager regarding curriculum additions and revisions.
- Provide feedback to the Program Manager on student progress, suggested improvements or problems that may impact program quality or stability.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills

- This is a 1099 Independent Contractor Role
- Compensation: $35/hour
Schedule:
- The course will run 3 days/week either M-W or T-That6 hours each day from 9am-3pm
- The program will run for 8 weeks or a total of 144 hours
