Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Overview: As a Payroll Specialist at BioLab Holdings, Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of payroll processes. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist may assist with various financial tasks and support other accounting functions within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:

Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and/or monthly payroll accurately and on time.

Verify timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant data for completeness and accuracy.

Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings, including taxes and other statutory deductions.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.

Address any payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll-related inquiries promptly.
Benefits Administration:

Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.

Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries.

Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related transactions.
Financial Reporting:

Prepare payroll-related financial reports, including payroll summaries, tax filings, and other relevant documents.

Assist in analyzing payroll data and trends to support financial planning and decision-making.

Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Compliance and Auditing:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Ensure payroll processes adhere to internal policies and external regulatory standards.

Assist with internal and external payroll audits as needed.
Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Implement best practices and automation tools to enhance payroll operations.

Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.

Proficiency in payroll software/systems UKG Ready and MS Excel.

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Prior experience in general accounting or finance functions is a plus.
