NW Roots Construction is an award-winning local Custom Home Builder located in the beautiful city of Cle Elum, WA. We are currently looking for an experienced residential construction project manager to join our team as we continue to grow in the Kittitas valley. We value integrity, safety, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple custom home projects from inception to completion.
Project Manager Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Project planning and coordination: The project manager is responsible for coordinating with the project stakeholders, such as the project owner, subcontractors, and NW Roots project team members to ensure that the project is on schedule and on budget. This involves developing a construction schedule and making sure that all the necessary resources, materials, and equipment are available on time. Owning projects from start to finish.
- Budget and cost control: The project manager is responsible for ensuring construction work is completed within the project budget or project owner approved costs. This involves keeping track and understanding the project budget, negotiating with suppliers and contractors as needed, and making cost-saving decisions when necessary.
- Project Procurement: The project manager is responsible for soliciting bids, bid review and project buyout within the project budget.
- Communication: The project manager must communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on the construction progress and to address any issues or concerns. Weekly communication with NWRC team members. This involves coordinating with the project owner and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone is on the same page. Communicate regularly with city/county officials, HOA officials, architects,engineers and subcontractors.
- Problem-solving: The project manager must be able to solve problems quickly and effectively when issues arise during construction. This involves identifying the problem, developing a plan of action, and implementing the solution.
- Record-keeping: The project manager must maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the construction project. This includes keeping track of work schedules, materials and equipment.
Oversight: Must be able to oversee and manage team members assigned to the project.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. A degree in construction management or related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in residential construction.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in managing construction schedules and budgets.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Proficient in project bid review, writing and issuing purchase orders.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and procedures.
- Adept at using web based building management software, microsoft office and other computer based programs relative to the construction industry.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
- Must have reliable transportation.
License/Certification:
- Valid driver's license.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
