Kin is looking for a Digital Project Manager with at least four years of experience managing multiple software and/or web application projects in a consulting environment.
As this is a 100% remote position, candidates need to have a quiet and distraction-free work environment with a stable internet connection. Candidates must be willing to work within our core business hours of 10AM - 4PM Central Time with some flexibility based on location.
NOTE: Due to contractual obligations, our new project manager must be based in the United States, and be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S..

This position will be working on our Enterprise Workplace Team which builds custom software to help companies with hundreds of thousands of employees communicate all the ways employees are compensated – from salary, to healthcare, to retirement savings.

Project Management
- Provide accurate point-in-time view of timeline, budget, scope, resourcing and progress on all projects being managed
- Be comfortable with multi-tasking, balancing smaller tasks while seeing larger and more complex initiatives through to completion
- Have an understanding of the technology being used and why it is being used, in order to provide confident and accurate information
- Translate client goals into requirements and development features and tasks
- Possess advanced knowledge of project management systems (we use Jira) in order to provide engineers with accurate and actionable requests
- Identify and address changing requirements and understand how those changes impact scheduling, resourcing and budget across multiple projects
- Be the clear driver of the project
- Keep client and team expectations aligned
- Meet deadlines on time and within budget while managing multiple projects
- Stay ahead of the delivery team by ensuring day-to-day goals are ready in advance
A typical week for a Kin project manager might look like:
- Anticipate and resolve conflicts and blockers to keep deliverables on schedule, and adjusting team resourcing as needed to avoid over- or under-utilization.
- Lead a Monday morning meeting with developers to ensure they have what they need to accomplish their work for the week
- Write several messages to clients answering questions, providing technical expertise, requesting info, or giving a status update on a particular project
- Work with developers to plan and estimate a new project or features of an existing application
- Meet with client teams to provide status updates, discuss blockers, and onboard any new requests or changes to expectations.
- Create detailed views of all projects with accurate reports on timeline, budget, resourcing, scope and progress
