JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, responsible for complex repairs and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and plumbing systems for the Health System in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, department policies, along with applicable codes and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Three years of directly related experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification : At least one of the following trades are required for the position:
1. Current West Virginia Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
2. Universal EPA Certification. (It is achieved by completing Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 categories.)
3. Current State of West Virginia HVAC Technician License.
4. Current West Virginia Journeyman or Master Plumbing License.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Duties Maintains, repairs, and installs electrical systems and equipment. Installs electrical circuits of various voltages and phases in accordance with the National Electric Code and all other required codes and standards. Performs preventative maintenance on electrical circuits and equipment. Reads and interprets electrical blueprints. Inspects, maintains, repairs, installs heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment throughout the Health system. Reads and interprets mechanical blueprints. Maintains, monitors and performs minor repairs to facility mechanical systems, including but not limited to, boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, emergency generator, nurse call system, pneumatic tube system and fire alarms. Demonstrates knowledge of the electrical distribution system by repairing/replacing fixtures, switches, ballasts, bulbs and other electrical components, single and polyphase motors, pumps, and other electrical equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of facility plumbing systems, including distribution and valves, by fitting pipe, repairing/replacing fixtures and opening blocked drains. Prepares documentation of completed work to ensure that the department is in compliance with Health System policies and procedures and all state and local codes. Maintains professional knowledge by attending inservices and department meetings as required. Maintains, cleans, and stores maintenance tools and equipment and cleans work area before and/or after completion of maintenance jobs. Conduct diagnosis, research and compile a parts list as per established procedures. Consistently performs work independently. Follows work orders and performs general repair as assigned and in a timely manner. Performs schedules preventive maintenance as assigned and in a timely manner. Completes all documentation for worked performed. Knowledgeable in all hospital and department policies and procedures concerning Utility Management. Performs inspections of lighting, facility and grounds as assigned. Continually seeks out new work in the absence of a supervisor. Responds to emergency calls and responds appropriately as per established policy. Performs snow removal duties as needed. Accurately turns in legible MG-MS-32 as per established procedure. Completes required paperwork for other duties. Performs Other Duties as Required Attends mandatory in-services, staff meetings, and actively participates in self-education. Completes all required competency assessments on time. Maintains required job knowledge (e.g. licensure and credentials, continuing education etc.). Performs other duties as required.
