St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights has an immediate open position for a part-time receptionist/administrative assistant. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar position, be a welcoming presence in the parish office, have a pleasant phone voice, and be skilled in handling various administrative duties.
Work Hours: The position is 20 hours a week, ideally 12-4pm M-F.
Summary: The Receptionist sits at the desk in the parish office, greets and assists parishioners and visitors, answers the phone, and supports the clergy and program staff as needed.
Primary Duties:
· Welcomes visitors and parishioners and answers and directs phone calls in a warm and friendly manner.
· Maintains reception area in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
· Operates standard office equipment on a regular basis, including mail meter, copy machine, and computer.
· Enters and updates member information in the church database; prints rosters and reports as needed.
· Manages office supply inventory and places orders as needed.
· Assists with mailings including mail merge, labels, stuffing, and metering.
· Helps manage parish calendar coordinating events, activities and group meeting times, room assignments & set-ups.
· Provides assistance to the clergy and program staff as needed.
· Receives deliveries; sorts and distributes incoming mail.
Qualifications
· High School diploma; post-secondary education preferred but not required
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Experience with database entry and report generation
· Friendly, professional, organized, and comfortable multi-tasking without guidance
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Punctual with strong attendance history
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
