This position is responsible for planning and coordinating the policies and actions of the company involving staffing, payroll, employment, legal compliance, and benefits coordination. The position is also the main point of contact for all FAA drug and alcohol compliance, as well as all mandatory state and federal employment compliance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management.
- 5+ years related experience in Human Resources
- Prior experience working with PEOs and coordinating employee benefits.
- Prior experience processing and reviewing payroll for accuracy.
- Prior experience with onboarding new employees into payroll, benefits and training.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Core Contributing Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities to the Organization
- Develop HR policies and procedures in accordance with local and federal laws.
- Ensure adequate staffing for all positions is achieved.
- Conduct new employee orientation and training.
- Process bi-weekly payroll using PEO services.
- Maintains HRIS/Payroll system's records and compiles reports from the database.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintains and processes all unemployment claims and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attend unemployment hearings when necessary.
- Reports maintains, and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows up on open cases.
- Perform or assist in the verification of employment (VOEs) and reference checks.
- Handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Support managers in communication and conflict resolution.
- Coordinate and perform employee performance reviews with managers.
- Maintain and administer the organization’s FFA Safety Sensitive drug and alcohol compliance program.
