In addition to taking outstanding care of our patients, our Front Office Assistants:
Interact with patients, staff, hospital personnel, and other professionals for the purpose of greeting, registering, and checking outpatients.
Perform secretarial duties utilizing specific knowledge of medical terminology, hospital/clinic, and laboratory procedures.
Duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, clinical patient care, and billing, compiling, documents pertinent to patient care electronically in medical record.
Registers new patients in the electronic medical record prior to scheduling the appointment that includes demographic and insurance information.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares office for daily activities.
Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information.
Greets patients arriving for appointments and ensures that all paperwork, insurance information etc. are up to date and correct.
Collects co-pay if necessary and issues a receipt.
Notifies physician office and/or clinic staff of patient arrivals.
Maintains accurate and timely patient information in EHR (Athena) database
Confirm patient appointments.
Scans all appropriate paperwork into EMR including outside records,
Other duties and assignments as necessary.

Maintains effective working relationships with physicians, administration, and other staff members
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in a medical office setting is strongly preferred.
Experience with Athena Electronic Health Record (EHR) is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable, but not mandatory.
Pay: Starts at $18 per hour
