The duties of this position are to be performed while demonstrating all of Sunshine Ace Hardware’s Core Values. Learning and Development Manager (L&D Manager) will lead the design, implementation and evolution of high-impact leadership development and individual associate learning strategies. This role is responsible for defining learning and development strategy, roadmap, and execution of programs that deliver the talent and capabilities required to achieve enterprise strategic long-term goals.
Your Role:
Evolve and execute Sunshine Ace Hardware’s leadership development strategy and framework.
Analyze requirements and learning gaps, and develop a leadership development program, curricula, and content across the continuum of people managers (first time managers, mid-level managers, leaders of leaders).
Analyze requirements and learning gaps, and develop individual contributor learning strategies, curricula, and content to build workforce capabilities, skills, and competencies.
Design course content, learning activities, assignments, and assessments for leadership development.
Develop instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
Analyze, update, and refine existing course content.
Deploy internal and external resources to facilitate learning interventions. Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions as well as serve as the train-the-trainer facilitator across in scope L&D programs.
Develop appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to build accountability, measure results, and optimize the impact of organizational development programs.
Implement assessment tools and feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
Design, develop, and manage comprehensive training materials that encompass various facets of retail, including customer service, product knowledge, and job-specific skills, including manuals, presentations, participant materials and e-learning modules, and on-the-job training.
Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices, integrating relevant insights into training programs to maintain a competitive edge in service delivery
Select and manage external vendors and partners.
Manage training budgets.
Plan and schedule training sessions (venues, participant logistics, materials, communications, attendance, participant feedback, reporting, etc.)
Partner with Human Resources for strengthening the New Employee Orientation Onboarding and team building initiatives.
Act as the primary Learning Management System administrator for all programs
About You
10+ years of experience in leadership development, training program design and implementation
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience in adult learning theory and instructional design concepts.
Experience in innovative approaches to training delivery (eLearning, course facilitation, gamification, etc.)
Ability to partner with and influence all levels of management and associates.
Strategic professional with vision to create training plans for future needs and opportunities.
Ability to implement, utilize and apply Computer Based training programs.
Experienced, high-impact facilitator.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to flex to various audiences.
Strong analytical, project management and change management skills.
Strong organizational and leadership skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Skilled at prioritizing and working under time constraints, handling multiple tasks, and working independently while remaining flexible to changing priorities and assignments.
Experience working within a matrix organization; track record of successfully collaborating cross-functionally.
Experience in measuring learning outcomes and business results.
Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite (PPT, Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) with ability to quickly learn other applications, as necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills; approachable and positive; lead by example; enjoy working with others in a collaborative, social environment; effective at building and maintaining strong relationships.
Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills strongly preferred but not required
Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver License with a clean driving record in accordance with the company’s insurance carrier’s standards.
Must have current auto liability insurance for such time when operating a personal automobile is necessary.
May require out of town/overnight travel for training and industry events (e.g. trade shows) and/or professional development conferences and seminars 5-10 times per year.
Physical Demands
Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing up to 40 lbs occasionally. Requires the ability to move heavy products with assistance.
Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment.
Ability to travel to support and deliver L&D activities.
