Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Security Director directs the Security Department in accordance-with HPD’s Policies and Procedures, supervises security staff and responds to emergencies. Associate Degree or five years’ experience in Security or related field. NYS Security Guard License required. Fire Guard Certification
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plan, direct, and organize the operation of the security department.
· Recruit, recommend hire and conduct orientation of all new security staff.
· Prepare staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage of each shift.
· Review timesheets daily for accuracy
· Develop and implement plan for ongoing training and skill development for all staff.
· Serve as fire safety director.
· Oversee emergency evacuation procedure correcting violations
· Schedule and conduct and fire drills.
· Review and advise safety policies and procedures.
· Review and advise on safety related policies.
· Ensure preparation and timely delivery of Incident and Monthly Reports,
· Conduct staff meetings.
· Ensure that security staff licenses are current.
· Schedule mandatory Annual 8-Hour Security Training
· Ensure that the security cameras are working.
· Review camera footage daily.
· Ensure staff’s proper usage of ADP and clocking in and out for their shift and time off requests.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate Degree or five years’ experience in Security or related field. Additional experience can be substituted for the educational requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
- Good interpersonal and writing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; understand and follow standard operating procedures; perform duties in a professional manner; and make independent and sound judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
