As a Signage Project Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end execution of signage installation projects, ensuring they are completed within designated timeframes and budgetary constraints. Your role requires an understanding of the sign industry and the ability to thrive in a service focused, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines to exceed client expectations. Your portfolio will encompass small to medium projects across the United States, with tasks managed remotely. A successful candidate will have intrinsic motivation for self-driven to results and flexible with their schedule to include after-hours and weekend work. Compensation for this role consists of a combination of base pay and commission, reflecting your success in managing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate and oversee single and multi-scope projects within the signage industry, typically ranging from $10k to $100k.
- Collaborate with other Project Managers to facilitate project estimation and coordination.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects, usually 40-60, in various stages of completion.
- Utilize company software tools and procedures to manage projects, maintain notes, and utilize client software.
- Maintain consistent written and verbal communication with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze building plans, elevations, blueprints, photos, specifications, and other documentation to develop accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Coordinate with permitting and inspection authorities to ensure compliance with relevant codes.
- Strategize and oversee all assigned projects to guarantee timely completion and adherence to budgets.
- Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and effectively manage them to ensure safe, on-time, and proper project execution.
- Negotiate contracts with external subcontractors to meet profitability expectations.
- Ensure compliance with permitting, health, and safety standards, promptly reporting any issues or concerns.
- Contribute actively as a member of a high-performance team.
- Ability to engage in work after normal business hours, on weekends, and on-call rotations to support current and future client needs.
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a tradesperson, estimator, and/or manager within the sign industry.
- Profound understanding of construction processes, procedures, and materials as they relate to the sign industry.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Eagerness and aptitude for rapid acquisition of new concepts and skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, coupled with strong negotiation skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer-facing communication and customer service.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and comfort with substantial computer usage.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, construction/project management/work order management software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals of varying personalities.
