Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated, experienced individual to join our team here at Standard as a HVAC Designer. Knowledge of mechanical design of systems/equipment for purchasing and fabrication per the Sales order and in accordance with applicable client specifications, industrial codes/standards, recommended practices, and Eco-Tec procedures and standards. This position will oversee the installation and consider various factors, such as square footage of the space, hours per day of use, and energy costs when they design the system.
Responsibilities
· Under direct supervision and using established standards, responsible for hardware designs and software programming for HVAC control systems to meet the intent of the project requirements.
· Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers.
· Responds to basic warranty calls.
· Selects hardware designs for flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
· Performs software programming using established standards as a basis of design.
· Coordinates the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
· Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
· Coordinates factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
· Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
· Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
· Gathers field changes from the project team and creates as-built drawings and software.
· Prepares proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.
· Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
· Assists in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.
· Completes paperwork including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
· Adheres to safety standards.
What Your Background Should Look Like
· Design of HVAC and plumbing systems from concept through final project design
· Work effectively and pro-actively within multi-discipline project teams
· Development and execution of project plans
· Maintain and strengthen client relationships.
· Assess and manage client requirements.
· Monitor budget and schedule and take corrective actions as needed.
Competencies
· Experience in delivering projects in BIM and relevant discipline software
· 1 year of experience with AutoCAD or equivalent tool, Microsoft Excel and project management.
· Working knowledge and familiarity with Revit models for mechanical systems design modeling, review and interference check is a plus
· HVAC and Title 24 software and manual calculations
· Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards including fire protection
· Knowledge of industry cooling and heating requirements and OEM technical specification
Compensation
Annual salary commensurate with experience $50,000 – 75,000 per year (posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Standard reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity).
