SUMMARY:
The Development Manager supports the Director of Development with the creation and implementation of fundraising strategies and helps with supporting a culture of philanthropy to ensure that funding for the organization's mission is achieved. This position includes overseeing the CRM database and donor management software (Salesforce), fundraising and donor research, outreach, and marketing and communications responsibilities to enhance the organization’s visibility and donor engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Fund Raising
- Establishes and maintains procedures for recording of all forms of donations.
- Ensures accurate and prompt acknowledgment of all donations, including gift processing, thank you letters, and tax receipts.
- Create and maintain mailing list for fundraising, impact, networking, individual giving, and stewardship campaigns.
- Act as point of contact to respond to general questions concerning development.
- Produce regular reports and analysis on fundraising performance, donor trends, and campaign results to support decision-making and goal setting.
- Aid grant writer with the writing and reporting of grants, when needed, including gathering data from Programs and other sources, ensuring accuracy of information and completion of all application.
- Stay informed about best practices in donor relations and database management and recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures.
- Provide training and support to staff on donor database use and best practices for donor communications.
- Assist the Director of Development in creating and adhering to event budgets and timelines. Track and collect funds raised for special events. Monitor progress of registration, ticket sales, income goals and adjust plans as appropriate.
- Work with the Director of Development to foster strong working relationships with the Board of Directors, committee members, donors, volunteers, and staff.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Outreach/Marketing
- Assist and attend outreach events with program personnel to promote the JFS Delaware brand, services, and opportunities to donate.
- Help with finding and soliciting corporations for sponsorships, in-kind donations, networking events, and volunteer opportunities.
- Assist the Marketing and Communications Specialist with fundraising campaigns, promotions, and brand awareness.
- Assist with the various JFS Programs and their events including Volunteer Appreciation Day, World Refugee Day, and Holiday Helpers.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree or Certification in non-profit management, Professional Fundraising, or related field preferred.
- 1 – 2 years' experience in fundraising or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PPT, Excel and MSWord. Knowledge of CRM donor management software (Salesforce preferred) and donor research tools.
- Familiarity with grant writing and reporting preferred.
- Ability to work independently and part of the team
- Strong analytical, critical, organizational, project management, and verbal and written communication skills

COMPENSATION AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires 3 days in the office and 2 days in the community. Some work at home is acceptable.
Salary range is $50,000 - $60,000 salaried full -time 40 hours a week. Full Benefits
