Vision
Through our holistic services and core programming, we give our youth the opportunity to build relationships, develop new skills, and establish goals that will put them on a trajectory to success and self-sufficiency in adulthood.

Position: Recruitment and Retention Coordinator
Salary: $50,000
Position Overview
The Recruitment and Retention Coordinator is responsible for providing outreach, recruitment, case management and retention support services to assist participants to successfully advance up an education and occupation ladder towards economic self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee outreach, recruitment, and enrollment of new participants into Eight Million Stories programs, to facilitate information and orientation sessions, participate in recruitment and outreach events, as well as programs through for performance-based contracts from both private and government organizations.
- Work with the Program Manager to further develop, refine, and implement enrollment targets for programs across 8MS.
- Build and sustain relationships with the key personnel of local high schools, community based organizations and government agencies to help programmatic recruitment efforts and successful enrollment into Eight Million Stories programs.
- Attend all relevant recruitment events and work to continue to build recruitment and outreach opportunities within communities and/or partnerships.
- Create and implement new and innovative outreach strategies and all marketing materials in line with participant trends.
- Provide ongoing retention support for 8MS program participants monthly.
- Conduct Biweekly check-ins with current participants and monthly follow-up with past participants after connection with job developer.
- Create program enrollments for all participants in all required databases and record keeping systems.
- Track, document, and distribute incentives and stipend payment for all participants.
- Provide coverage and support during program activities; develop and facilitate award ceremonies, alumni gatherings, and other special events.
- Provide biweekly feedback to programming team regarding participant’s education, placement experiences, challenges, and successes, to help shape the content and structure of program services
- Participate in relevant departmental, and external meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, and events.
- Handle any appropriate additional responsibilities and functions as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Urban Policy, Education, or related field strongly preferred or extensive related professional experience
- Two years’ experience in youth development, preferably employment, career-oriented programs and/or youth development programs required
- Knowledgeable of and ability to apply positive youth development principles to working with young people
- Prior experience in a social service setting working with a multicultural young adult population
- Prior experience in working with a vulnerable youth population (foster care, court involved, runaway and homeless or teen parent, etc.)
- Prior experience providing education/employment-related case management, career readiness, and employment retention services
- Experience with performance-based contracts.
- Ability to create and facilitate workshops and trainings
- Ability to closely collaborate with colleagues and function as part of a team to promote successful outcomes for youth
- Ability to model work readiness skills and appropriate workplace behavior at all times
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multitask while adhering to deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; strong computer skills required
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
- Proficiency in Spanish, desired
