Accounts Payable Specialist
St. Coletta of Greater Washington is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and secondary disabilities. We are currently seeking an Accountant Payable Specialist who will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company and maintaining the record required to substantiate claims and invoices.
Examples of Essential Functions
- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Maintain monthly audit schedules for various audits performed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 5-10 previous experience preferred; Business or Accounting degree preferred.
- Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred. Certified Public Accountant firm experience preferred.
- Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
- Excellent organizational & communication skills and attention to detail.
