Senior Controller - Automotive
Essential Duties
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of complete and accurate financial statements monthly according to US GAAP within a 4-working day timeframe. Ensure all general ledger accounts, including warranty claims, are current and accurate.
- Strategic Financial Insights: Interpret financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs) regularly. Provide strategic insights and inform senior management of developing trends to support decision-making processes.
- Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead the preparation of short- and long-term financial forecasts.
- Management Reporting: Deliver detailed financial and management reports to department heads. Advise on financial implications of business activities and recommend corrective actions.
- Cash Management: Maintain an effective cash management system that forecasts cash requirements accurately. Optimize cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs.
- Asset Management: Direct the assessment and application of depreciation rates to capital assets. Ensure accurate valuation and reporting of company assets.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all applicable government finance regulations.
- Audit and Inventory: Coordinate annual audits and physical inventories. Ensure thorough and accurate preparation for audit processes and address any findings promptly.
- Internal Controls: Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with external sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, and payables. Identify and investigate any unusual entries.
- Leadership and Team Development: Ensure adherence to proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate records and analyses.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Actively participate in executive and managers' meetings. Collaborate with other departments to drive business performance and strategic initiatives.
Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
· Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 5 years within the automotive industry or a similar sector preferred.
· In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
· Proven track record of strategic financial planning, analysis, and risk management.
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (Macola is a plus).
