Harman Eye Clinic is a progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice, we are searching for a Part-Time Medical Assistant to add to our team. Provide individualized and specialized nursing care to patients in the ambulatory surgery center following physician’s orders, recognized healthcare standards, and legal aspects of current practice within the state, and the center’s policies and procedures. Demonstrate initiative, insight, and functions under the direct supervision of the RN.
Requirements:
- Preoperative and postoperative patient calls

Gathers and records patient information necessary to complete health history

Documents legibly in the patient record

Comply with procedures, regulations, and rules in maintaining medical records

Perform proper sterilization
-
Abides by all policies, regulations, and procedures
-
Follow all compliance policies and procedures including HIPAA, OSHA/WISHA, Patient confidentiality, and insurance requirements

Trained in asepsis, infection control, and sterilization
-
Safe positioning of patients when required.

Proper method of handling instruments, tissue specimens, cultures, and smears before, during, and after use.

Demonstrate a high degree of collaboration, negotiation, motivational, and conflict resolution skills.
Education and Experience:

Two (2) plus years of MA experience in a medical environment, operating room, and ASC experience preferred.

Current CPR/AED is mandatory.
