The Quality Hotel & Suites at the Falls is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel as well as provide valuable strategic direction. You will plan and supervise the activities of all departments to ensure a well-organized and profitable running of the hotel business. This will include a wide range of responsibilities including but not limited to operating and managing hotel staff, driving sales, ensuring outstanding guest service, associate satisfaction, quality assurance as well as bottom-line results. Candidate must be eager to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to ensure 100% guest satisfaction. It is important for the GM to be involved in all aspects of the hotel operations. You will be just as responsible for dealing with guest complaints as you will for strategizing and preparing reports relating to revenue, house profits and RevPAR index. You will be a key person of reference for employees and clients as well as external vendors. The GM must be able to guide the employees by being a team player, an effective leader and have the ability to set examples to create and ensure a well-functioning team. ** Must have extensive knowledge of Choice Hotel programs and systems software, certification is a must.
Hotel General Manager Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily business operations for all departments within the hotel/bar
- Directly manages staff
- Interviewing/hiring/training/orientating managers and staff
- Evaluating performance and productivity
- Manage performance reviews and appraisals, disciplinary documentation and terminations
- Conducting weekly manager meetings
- Maintain up to date knowledge about hotel services, promotions, special packages and features
- Analyzing accounting and financial data
- Maximize revenues
- Managing budgets
- Generating reports
- Making bank deposits
- Approving payroll
- Ordering for housekeeping, maintenance work; everyday needs per department
- Planning maintenance work, events and room bookings
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety as well as licensing; follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions
- Maintain hotel equipment, building infrastructure, properties, inventories, etc.
- Handling customer/guest complaints, resolving issues
- Monitor guest ratings and comments, evaluate where improvement is necessary
- Maintain record of all data and forecasts arrival and departure of guests
- ** Ready to work and/or cover whenever necessary in any department based on business demands
Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- College degree (Preferred)
- General Manager or Hotel management: 3 year minimum (Required)
- Hospitality: 3 year (Required)
- Choice Hotel programs and system knowledge (Required)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strategic thinking skills and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet necessary deadlines
- Strong organizational, project management and detail orientation
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
